I am Gigi Monet Jackson, born as Jerry Moran Jackson Aug 9, 1947 in Atlanta, Fulton Co., Georgia. My former middle name Moran was for Capt Joseph Edward Moran known as "Iron Mike" of the World War II US naval cruiser, USS Boise CL-47, my Dad's ship during WWII. My parents are Roy Simpson Jackson Jr. born in Atlanta, Fulton Co., Georgia on Dec 31, 1919 and Iva Ruth Johnson born in Modesto, Stanislaus Co., California on Oct 2, 1921. My parents were married in Reno, Washoe Co., Nevada on May 19, 1942 prior to the war and my dad leaving for Pearl Harbor. I am the second born of three. I have an older sister by four years, Linda Marilynn Jackson, and a younger sister by three years, Cherie Jeanette Jackson. My spouse is Christine Susan (Sala) Jackson, born May 23, 1951 in Rockville Centre, Nassau Co., Long Island, New York. We were married Jun 26, 1971 in Ringgold, Catoosa Co., Georgia. Our daughter was married Sept 15, 2009 in Austin, Travis Co., Texas. Her husband is Benjamin John Baker born in North Yorkshire, England on Jan 21, 1984 where they now live. I was born and raised in the southeastern states of Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and South Carolina. I lived in cities while growing up such as Atlanta and Smyrna in Georgia; St. Petersburg in Florida; Memphis and Chattanooga in Tennessee; and Mt. Pleasant, North Charleston, and Greenville in South Carolina. Later, at the age of 21 in 1968 I relocated to Dallas, Texas where I began my adult life. Met my spouse in 1970 and in 1971 joined the Navy and was married. We have since lived in Arlington and Grand Prairie in Texas, Norcross in Georgia, and Ripley and Millington in Tennessee.
Thus far, our family lines entails over 9,600 individuals, more than 3700 families, better then 1600
surnames, and 52 generations beginning with 1 generation forward of our daughter's and going back
to about the year 602-610 AD. So far, countries of origin of individuals migrating to the USA in
our families are: Bohemia, England, France, Germany, Holland, Ireland, Italy (Sicily), Norway, Scotland, and Sweden. Among these were those of royal blood, farmers, laborers, and those of both religious and political persecution. Many were of multi-religious convictions including those of Jewish, Catholic, Protestant, LDS, and Quaker. Many were those involved with the movement west and the settling of this great country, the United States of America, from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia to Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska and onward west to Washington, Oregon and California. A number of family members fought on both sides of the Civil War, literally kinfolk fighting kinfolk. Many of the family pioneers going west were Mormons, both LDS and RLDS. One of our family lines, through my father's mother, my 8th great- grandparents Richard and Margaret Haines, whom arrived in America on the ship "Amity" in 1682, is even shared by former President, George W. Bush of the United States. Richard and Margaret Haines, likewise, are President Bush's 8th great-grandparents through his mother's mother making George W. Bush and myself 9th cousins.

In my research since I started this venture in 1995, after losing my parents in 1994-1995, I have discovered many amazing stories which I share a couple of below under "Stories". It's taught me humility and to appreciate others, who came before us, who lived and sacrificed to make life better to all who follow. I believe this is our main purpose on earth. To come together, help, serve, support, and love one another. I believe our greatest gifts are those given to us by our Father which are One Another, Life itself, His son Jesus who came to teach us how to be and show us the way, His Word the Bible to show us who He is, Love which includes the nine fruits of the spirit, and Family which not only includes our own immediate, but each other .. all people on earth! To show how each and everyone of us who have lived and now living are connected here are a few additional notable individuals that are in my own tree and others I am kin to through blood ties. Elizabeth "Bess" (Throckmorton) Raleigh whom was "Lady in Waiting" to Queen Elizabeth 1st of England and who married Sir Walter Raleigh is one of my distant relatives through my Throckmorton blood line. Another of my distant relatives during that same time period is Queen Catherine (Parr) Tudor the last and sixth wife of King Henry VIII of England. In addition to England's Royal lines I am also related to Lady Diana Spencer, Princess of Wales and also Camilla Shand, Duchess of Cornwall. Also, Queen Elizabeth II and the entire Royal family of England. A couple of my daughter's generation are actresses Kate Bosworth born Catherine Ann Bosworth and Anne Hathaway born Anne Jacqueline Hathaway born just 8 days after my daughter. I also have ties to Reba McEntire, Pres. Richard Nixon, Pres. Gerald Ford, Lady Eleanor Roosevelt who married her 5th cousin once removed, Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt, as well as, Anne Hathaway who was married to William Shakespeare.
